Jalingo- Mrs Annah Ishaku , wife of Taraba governor, says she plans to establish a non-governmental organisation that will train people on various trades.

Ishaku, who spoke to journalists on Sunday in Jalingo, said setting such an organisation would assist in reducing unemployment in the country, as well as promote self reliance.

She listed the possible areas of training to include tailoring, computer, hand weaving, hair dressing, among others.
“As a mother, I will not fold hands and watch people go to bed with empty stomach because they cannot afford to put food on their tables.

“I am going to set an NGO that will train people in different skills acquisition programmes, with the sole aim of empowering them to become self-reliant and employers of labour.

“Our people must understand that there is dignity in labour, there is no point looking down on any job that puts food on the table,” she added. (NAN)
