Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Transmission Company of Nigeria says another critical infrastructure, the Shiroro-Katampe transmission line has been vandalized, making it the fifth of such incidents within February and March this year.
In a statement, TCN states that towers along transmission line have been vandalized and the conductors stolen.
Already TCN says it is currently mobilizing for conductor replacement, pending completion of security operations at the site.
Meanwhile the second line remains fully operational, transmitting at full capacity to Abuja, in conjunction with the Gwagwalada line serving the Kukwaba-Apo axis.
Also, TCN says its wheeling capacity to serve Abuja and environs would be enhanced by the Lokoja – Gwagwalada transmission line.
While describing the act as sabotage, TCN urges security agencies and host communities to collaborate in apprehending the perpetrators as well as protect the nation’s transmission infrastructure
