Lagos – A 19-year-old sales representative, Dayo Atolagbe, was on Tuesday arraigned in Lagos for allegedly stealing his employer’s N450, 000.
The accused was, however, granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Atolagbe is facing a charge of stealing at an Apapa Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Tony Elibeh, told the court that the accused committed the offence between Aug. 3, 2015 and Feb. 26 at No. 1, Akinola St., Amukoko, Lagos.
He said the accused was employed by Mr Idris Olalekan to sell mobile phone and recharge cards for him.
“Olalekan later discovered that N450, 000 was missing from his shop after check.
“The accused was asked to account of the missing money but failed to do so.’’
Elibeh alleged that the accused sold the cards and converted the money to personal use.

offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accused, on conviction, may be sentenced to a three-year jail term.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Titus Abolariwa, said the sureties must be blood relations of the accused, who must have means of livelihood.
In addition, the sureties should show evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government as part of the bail condition.
The case has been adjourned to April 4 for mention. (NAN)
