Lagos – A 19-year-old teenager, Peter Adeosun on Thursday appeared before an Ejigbo Senior Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a TVS King Tricycle valued at N425,000.
The accused of no fixed address is facing a one-count charge of theft.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Babaji Ishaku, told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 10, at Umuchukwuka Ezera town, in Ijegun area of Lagos.
“The accused man, on the said date, did steal the tricycle with Reg. number: DED 800 WU valued at N425,000, property of Mr Moses Shoyemi,’’ Ishaku said.
The offence, according to the prosecutor contravened the provisions of sections 285 of Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Senior Magistrate Jadesola Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties.
Adeyemi directed that the sureties must present evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case to April 18, for further hearing (NAN)
