Tension in PDP as seven NWC members resign

Abuja – There was palpable tension at the Wadata House, Secretariat of the Peoples following the resignation of seven members of the party’s Working Committee.

Although details of those who resigned and the reason for their action was still sketchy as of the of writing this report, it was gathered that the officials complained about what they referred to as “an unpleasant working environment”.

The party’s Organising Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (retd), confirmed the resignations.

He, however, said those who resigned were deputies not the substantial heads of the departments. He declined to give further details.

Those who resigned include the deputy financial secretary, the deputy legal adviser, the deputy national auditor, the deputy national publicity secretary, the deputy leader and the deputy organising secretary.
