Falconets Head Coach Peter Dedevbo and the team’s players have assured Nigerians that the team is ready for the semi-final clash against Democratic Republic of Korea today in the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup at the Moncton Stadium.
Nigeria qualified for the round of four after a thrilling 4-1 win over New Zealand in the quarter-finals played on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of the crunchy duel yesterday, Dedevbo said the team has prepared hard and was sure the African representatives will come out victorious.
“The higher you go in football, the harder it becomes, so I don’t want to leave any stone unturned in the match against Korea. I am very much aware that the Koreans are fast on counter attack and that’s why the girls were not given a day off. We have to perfect our possession and control as well as make sure we get an early goal which will unsettle them,” Dedevbo said.
The soccer tactician however refused to reveal his tactics for the game.[eap_ad_2]
“I don’t want to disclose my strategies, the game will determine how we play, but I want to tell Nigerians that the team is confident and ready to take on any team at this competition,” he added.
Team captain Patience Okaeme said the players will not underrate their opponent, as they are going to approach the match will all seriousness and determination.
“All we need is to study their style of play, discover their plans and then move in with our tactics. We have watched their clips and I know we shall send them packing”.
Quarter-final two goal hero Uchechi Sunday on her part noted that the Falconets are a strong side that is not ready to bow to any team at the competition.
