Thespian says consistency will make stage plays relevant

Lagos  –  Chief Executive Officer, Whitestones Culture Ambassadors, Tayo Oluwasogba, on Friday urged theatre practitioners to put their resources together to enable them stage plays regularly.
Oluwasogba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that consistency would raise awareness and make stage plays relevant.
He spoke against the backdrop of his forthcoming play titled: “The Victims”.
He mentioned the challenges theatre practitioners face in staging plays to include paucity of funds and lack of spaces to ply their trade.
“We need to stage our arts in different locations and impart on people,’’ He added.
He suggested that theatre should be used to constantly educate and inform the society about love for one another which will bring about peace.
Oluwasobga, who gave the synopsis of the play, said it was all about those who were disappointed in love.
“Love is about human relations and tolerance and if we preach it, then the society will be better for it.
“We have to address the way people should behave and tolerate one another for the sake of peace and understanding.
“We should preach love and not hate, if we love we should be patient also.
“So that the society begins to see everyone as brothers and sisters and will discard ethnic differences, not to harm people.
“If you love you will not think of evil against that person or people,” he said.
Oluwasobga said that there was need to really teach the society how to love, promote peaceful coexistence and be patient in love.
“Love is a good thing and that will help push people to unite and make them join hands and move the country forward.”
