Those who oppose Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade are Nigeria’s enemies — Activist

Sokoto – Hajiya Halibatu Baba, a Sokoto-based activist, on Tuesday said Nigerians who stood against President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti corruption campaign were “great enemies of the nation’s progress”.

Baba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto that fighting corruption would ensure political stability of the country and create job opportunities for teeming unemployed youths.

She described corruption as the major factor responsible for the nation’s setback .

” Massive development that we see in some foreign nations was purely due to their leaders’ commitment to the fight against corruption.

” We can be like them because we are blessed with human and mineral resources that would be of immense benefit for all and sundry.

” President Muhammadu Buhari should do everything humanly possible to recover our looted funds and utilise it in providing infrastructure that would develop our country, ” she said.

Baba also advised President Buhari to remain focused and ignore people or groups that might divert his attention from the fight against corruption.

She also appealed to Nigerians to support the fight against insurgency, corruption, kidnapping and armed robbery.

She said it was time for Nigerians to make sacrifice in the fight against insurgency and other criminal activities by providing intelligence reports about dubious characters.(NAN)
