GUSAU – Security was tight at Gusau Trade Fair Ground, where the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]flagged off its governorship campaign on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the police, DSS and NSCDC officials subjected [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]supporters of the party to thorough check before being allowed into the campaign ground.
NAN also reports that food vendors were not allowed into the venue. The security personnel allowed only water in sachets to be brought into the campaign ground.
NAN also reports that the heavy security may not be unconnected with last Wednesday’s attack on the
[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]
[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]party’s Zamfara Central Senatorial campaign office.
It will be recalled that the office was burnt while the staff members were beaten up by irate youths. (NAN)
