LOKOJA – Mr Timothy Ajiboye, Correspondent of ThisDay newspaper in Lokoja, is dead.
News of his death came as a shock to his colleagues as he was with others at the Press Centre on Lugard Street in Lokoja where he watched premiership match on television.
He left the Press Centre at about 6.30p.m. for home.
Timo, as he was popularly called by colleagues and friends, died at about 7p.m. on Sunday at his Felele residence in Lokoja.
His death was confirmed by his uncle, Mr Paul Ajiboye, who also said that the family had ordered an autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death.
The late Ajiboye had at various times worked for some national dailies, including the Champion newspaper and the National Concord.
His body had been deposited at the Ankuri Hospital in Lokoja. He left behind a wife, a son – Tomiwa, mother and four siblings.
Chairman of Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Mr Adamu Idako, described Ajiboye’s death as “a rude shock’’, saying that he was with the deceased at the Press Centre on Sunday evening.
He expressed the condolences of the entire members of the chapel to wife, son and relations of the late Ajiboye and prayed that God gives them the fortitude to bear the loss (NAN)
