ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – President Tinubu urges Nigerians to abort planned protests, promising measures to alleviate economic hardships. Highlighting government initiatives like CNG vehicles, student loans, and agricultural support, Tinubu emphasizes patience and unity. He appeals to traditional rulers to promote peace and convey these messages to their communities.

During a recent meeting with the National Council of Traditional Rulers in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu, through Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, urged Nigerians to cancel their planned protests, assuring them that the government is taking steps to ease economic difficulties. Tinubu criticized those exploiting the nation’s economic challenges to incite protests and called for patience and national unity during this critical period of reforms.

Highlighting the adverse effects of past crises on national unity, Tinubu referenced the experiences of countries like India and Sudan, stressing that with Nigeria’s large population, the country cannot afford such discord. He emphasized that patience and commitment to the reform process are essential.

To address the current economic issues, Tinubu outlined several government initiatives, including the acquisition of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to reduce fuel costs, the implementation of a student loan program, the distribution of palliatives to vulnerable groups, and the provision of agricultural tools such as tractors and fertilizers to support farmers.

The President also reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing security across the nation. He appealed to traditional rulers to foster peace within their communities and to relay this message of patience and unity to the youth.

As the country faces these challenges, the government seeks the support and understanding of all Nigerians to ensure successful and lasting reforms.
