Tiv youths tackle Ortom over attacks on Buhari

The Youth Council Worldwide has asked Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to concentrate on providing good governance and responsible leadership to the people the state instead of chasing the wind in the name of attacking President Muhammadu Buhari.


The Council said it expected Governor Ortom to get busy with fashioning a solution to the militia killings in Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo local government areas the state.


In a statement signed by its President Mike Msuaan, the Council wondered why the Governor, who has been unable to provide dividends democracy for his people will delight in playing the role of “a busy body” by using the name of the president to make headlines at any slightest opportunity.

According to the Youth, the protracted communal crisis in Bonta, Konshisha and Oju local government areas which has led to the destruction several lives and property worth millions of Naira.

“It is curious that the governor who has used apparatus the state to intimidate critics from interrogating his inability to provide basic amenities for the people of Benue will turn round to accuse the President of intimidating critics.

“We expect the governor to get busy with fashioning a solution to the militia killings in Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo local government areas the state. The protracted communal crisis in Bonta, Konshisha and Oju local government areas has led to the destruction of several lives and property worth millions of Naira. The ongoing Ipiav and Yandev communal clashes in Gboko Local Government Area are many other crises should get a chief executive busy.”
