It appears that contact tracing and monitoring/surveillance is one of the most critical aspects of Ebola Virus Disease management and control. However, having read many news reports about how Ebola patient contacts evade or totally escape surveillance and quarantine, it becomes clear that a more effective strategy is required to ensure compliance from contacts. [eap_ad_2]I believe that implementing “Contact Support” may be the way to go. This entails, “rewarding” compliant contacts with vitamins, immune support medicines or groceries every time they make themselves available to the contact team. This will go a long way in encouraging many to stay in town and in touch. A small cash allowance could also be included. Someone may argue that some of the more privileged contacts will not be enticed by mere “handouts” but it is worth a try.
