Lagos – A 44-year-old trader, Mariam Ogedengbe, who allegedly stabbed her neighbour with a broken bottle , was on Wednesday granted N100, 000 bail by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court ,Lagos.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.O Osinbajo, also granted Ogedengbe one surety in like some as part of the bail condition.
She ordered that the surety must show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The accused, who resides at No. 4, Thomas Lane, Isale Oja, Agege Lagos State, is facing a two-count charge of assault and causing harm.
Earlier the Prosecutor, Asp. Frank Inah told the court that the accused committed the offences on May 2 by 7.30.pm, at No. 4, Thomas Lane, Isale Oja, Agege Lagos.
Inah said the accused beat- up one Rasak Alabi, her neighbour and stabbed him with a broken bottle.
He said the accused and the complainant had a misunderstanding which led to an altercation and the assault.
“The accused stabbed the complainant with a broken bottle on the head and shoulder, which caused him grievous body injuries.
Inah said the offences committed, contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Osinbajo however adjourned the case to May 18 for hearing. (NAN)
