AKURE – The police on Friday arraigned a 50-year-old trader, Umaru Garba, in an Akure Magistrates’ Court for alleged unlawful possession of 25 goats.
The prosecutor, ASP Pelumi Adejuwon, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 5 at about 12.30 p.m. at Shasha market in Akure.
Adejuwon said the accused “had 17 goats, 4 rams and 4 sheep in his possession but could not give a satisfactory account of how he came about them”.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 430(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 vol. I, laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Kuye, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
