Nyanya (FCT) – Udosen Edidem, the Obong Ibededem Ndito of Akwa Ibom, On Saturday commended residents of Nyanya for their peaceful conduct in the accreditation and voting process.
The monarch made the commendation shortly after casting his vote at polling center 8 in Nyanya .
He said the accreditation and the voting processes were devoid of crisis, noting that voters had conducted themselves in an orderly manner.
He noted that the orderly manner of voters was an indication that the residents of Nyanya were ready to champion the art of peace.
He added that the peaceful conduct of the election would ultimately lead to the devolpment of the area.
He urged other eligible voters to be patience and cast their votes for the candidates of their choice.
He also commended INEC for its role despite the late commencement of accreditation in some polling units .
The traditional ruler also cautioned that INEC should, as matter of necessity, guide some eligible voters on thumb printing to reduce the number of void votes .
Similarly, the INEC Supervisory Electoral Officer in Nyanya Collation Center, Mr AbdulHadI Khalil, said he was greatful to Allah for the peaceful electoral process in the area.

“We give thanks to Allah becauser the whole thing is going on smoothly.
He said residents of Nyanya were interested in the electoral process, hence the large turnout of voters.
“People are interested in the electoral process, people have come out in good time, the INEC officials came out in good time.
“They are able to start the accreditation in good time, and that is why they have finished.
” So people are interested and have shown that interst by turning out en masse,’’ he said.
