UMUCHU – The traditional ruler of Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Godson Ezechukwu, has invited Blount Internationals, a U.S. company, to establish a branch in the community.
Ezechukwu made the request on Friday when the company’s Europe Managing Director, Mr Marnix Kuyper, and its Sales Manager, Mr Simon Pears, paid him a visit.
He said the people of Umuchu were predominantly timber dealers and were in love with their products, which include chainsaw, saw chains and files, among other farm implements.
The traditional ruler said the company should also consider an indigene of the community, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, who is a major dealer in their products.
He told the visitors to consider Anambra as a safe place to do business, explaining that the days of kidnapping in the area was gone.
“This place is safe for business transactions; we shall be happy if you can set up your factory here. My people are in love with your products,” he said.
Responding, Kuyper told the monarch that the company would consider his request to cite a factory in his community.
He extolled the virtues of their West African representative, Ezeemo, describing him as “a trusted partner’’. (NAN)
