Kumo (Gombe)- The Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar, has called on the electorate in Gombe State to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan to win his re-election bid to ensure sustained development of the country.
The minister made the call at a campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kumo, headquarters of Akko Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
He said the President had transformed the country including the state by establishing the Federal University in Kashere and upgrading the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe to Federal Teaching Hospital.
He also said the Jonathan administration reactivated the NNPC depot that was dormant for 15 years and established schools for almajiris across the state, among others.

The minister said the railway line in Gombe state would be completed by the end of January.
According to him, the Federal Government will also inaugurate the Port-Harcourt-Makurdi railway line on Friday.
He said this was part of federal government’s commitments to ensure that it provided affordable means of transport to the people.
Umar also called on the people in the state to re-elect Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo to continue with his good work for them.
He commended the governor for the development of the state in all the sector especially in education, road construction, youths and women empowerment among others.
He described Dankwambo as one of the best governors in the country. (NAN)
