Travellers stranded as angry residents block Kaduna-Abuja highway

– Angry residents of Anguwar Magaji in Chikun Local Government Area of state, have blocked ever-busy Kaduna- highway in protest of killing of a 13-year- girl by marauding bandits.

Meanwhile, thousands of travelers who were left stranded in quagmire, lamented blockade.

But of Anguwar Magaji community said protest was done draw attention of the government constant on the community by bandits.

One of the community said they could no longer tolerate the unprovoked of the bandits, who had prevented them from going their farms and coming to attack them at .

According to him, “we are tired of by bandits, we cannot go to our farms and yet they follow to our homes to abduct for ransom. They killed a 13-year- girl, a security man in the village as well as abducted residents including the family of the village head.

“All we are saying is , we want security or we should be allowed to protect ourselves against the bandits.

”When our correspondent visited the scene, the angry insisted no one pass.
They also shunned the security personnel who were appealing to them to reopen the .

Both women and children some of whom were half-naked were mobilized to the highway for the protest which held around Angwar Doma before the Kakau interchange flyover.
