Abuja- The Defence Headquarters on Friday said another set of 234 women and children were rescued at the Kawuri and Konduga end of Sambisa forest on Thursday.
This information is contained in a statement issued in Abuja by Maj.-Gen Chris Olukolade Director of Defence Information.
He said those rescued had been evacuated to screening centres.
”This set is in addition to the previous individuals earlier rescued during the ongoing operation in the area.
”The assault on the forest is continuing from various fronts,” he stated.
He added that current efforts were being concentrated on rescuing civilians held hostage and destroying all terrorists camps and facilities in the forest.(NAN)
