AUCHI (EDO) – A 16-year-old-girl, Cynthia Nikoro, was on Tuesday crushed by a truck at Auchi, headquarters of the Etsako-West local Government Area of Edo, while attempting to cross the Auchi/Okene highway.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the girl was knocked down by the truck, which belonged to a construction company, near the Angle 90 junction in the town.
An eyewitness, Mr Isaah Adamu, said that the victim was crossing the road with her family members when the truck hit her.
“The victim and her family where crossing from the Angle 90 junction to the opposite side of the road, when the trailer knocked her down.
“The girl died instantly on the spot,’’ he said.
An angry mob immediately descended on the truck and the driver, while policemen had to intervene to bring the situation under control, but the mob succeeded in burning down the truck.
The body of the victim was later taken to the mortuary by officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission.(NAN)
