tug-of-war and other sports.

football currently has, so as to better the chances of the nation winning more laurels at international competitions.
“Our basic problem in the Tug-of-War federation is sponsorship and the lack of attention by authorities towards the sport and in fact all other federations, apart from football.
“They hardly give attention and money to run their programmes, and I believe if they sit down and do it right then our sports sector will blossom,’’ Babatoba said.
The technical director also said that tug-of-war was a popular sport internationally.
According to him, 2015 is the year to reposition the sport in the country.
“It has been part of Olympic Games since 1909; we are working on making it more attractive this year.
“All we need is some more attention to reposition the sport in the country”. (NAN)
