Abuja – The police on Thursday arraigned two hair stylists in a Chief Magistrates’ Court, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, for allegedly fighting in public and disturbing the peace of the neighbourhood.
Monsurat Jimo, 34, a resident of Daki Biyu, Abuja and Laraba Musa 33, who resides at Mpape, were arraigned on a count charge of disturbance of public peace.
The prosecutor, Margret Nwosu, told the court that on Feb. 19, the defendants engaged in argument over who would make a customer’s hair which led them to fight openly.
She said that the fight which took place opposite Wuse Market, attracted public attention which led to their arrest by police officers on duty.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
The prosecutor told the court that the offence contravened the provisions of section 114 of the Penal Code Law.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Fatima Bukar granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
Bukar warned them to desist from such disgraceful act in the future saying that it did not speak well of them and adjourned the case till March. 23. for hearing (NAN)
