Lago- Some U.S., South African and Nigerian entertainers partied into the early hours of Monday during the Corporate Elite Nite at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Stars such as Freddie Jackson, Cameo, Mario, Ice Prince, Dru Hill, Shina Peters, Praiz, Sound Sultan and Micasa from South Arica, all climbed the stage to thrill the crowd.
Also KCee, Harrysong, Monica Orga, Don Jazzy, D’Prince, Korede Bello, Dr Sid, Banky W, Lami, Young Gracee and 112 did not disappoint.
It was the 8th edition of the Corporate Elite Nite, an event organised by major brands for captains of industries, consumers and fans to appreciate their contributions and patronage during the year.
The brands include MTN Nigeria, Nigerian Breweries, Pepsi, Absolut Vodka, South African Airways, Martell, Upfront and Personal and the Eko Hotel and Suites.
Fans were treated to live performances with some major highlights at various points.
One of the highlights came when rapper Ice Prince and U.S. music star, Mario, performed together on stage and Ice Prince taught him to pronounce the word, ‘Oshe’ (Thank you), which he pronounced very well to the delight of the audience.
Banky W also delivered a performance with well-choreographed dance routines while Iyanya took an Irish girl from the crowd on to the stage to deliver some Nigerian dance moves.
Gifts of iPads and smartphones were handed out to excited members of the audience through a raffle draw while drinks and food flowed freely.
Speaking on the event, the General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, Mr Richard Iweanoge, said that the Corporate Elite Nite was an opportunity for the company to appreciate its customers.
“We are the biggest telecoms company in the country, and we are involved in so many aspects of the lives of Nigerians.
“Nigerians have also been good to the company; for the past eight years, we and our co-sponsors have used the Corporate Elite Nite to show our appreciation to Nigerians.
“We invite stars whose works are enjoyed by Nigerians from around the world to perform to our customers here, in Nigeria.
“It has always been a wonderful experience.
“It also provides a platform for some of the young Nigerian artistes to perform on the same stage with their foreign counterparts,’’ he said.
Some of the stars also expressed their happiness at being in Nigeria.
Mario said it was his second time of coming to Nigeria.
Sisqo of Dru Hill said that it was a third time of performing at the Corporate Elite Nite.
The crew of Cameo received much applauds from the audience and found it hard to leave the stage.
The events of the night were anchored by the duo of comedian, Tee A and On Air Personality, Olisa Adibua. (NAN)
