ABUJA – United Cricket Club of Abuja (UCCA) on Sunday won the maiden edition of the FCT T20 Cricket League club championship at the Package B of the Abuja National Stadium.
The championship which began on June 6 with four teams participating ended with UCCA beating Asian Cricket Club of Abuja (ACCA) by nine wickets to claim the title.
In the first inning, UCCA won the toss and elected to field first.
ACCA went in to bat and scored a total of 102 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
In the second innings, UCCA chased down the score, hitting 104 runs for the loss of two wickets in 16.1 overs.
UCCA thus gathered six points from three matches, while ACCA obtained four points, also from three matches.

Cricket Club of Abuja (CCA) and Pakistan Stallion Cricket Club (PSCC) teams which also participated gained two points and zero points respectively.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that UCCA will now represent the FCT in the National T20 League Club Championship coming up in the last quarter of the year.
UCCA won N100,000 with the top prize, while ACCA took home N50,000 with the runners-up position.(NAN)
