ASABA – Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State on Thursday, expressed sadness over at the death of Mr Ben Charles Obi, founding Editor of Insider Weekly Margazine.
The governor described Obi as one of the crusaders for the current democratic experiment in Nigeria.
He expressed his sympathy in a statement issued in Asaba by his Press Secretary, Mr Felix Ofou.
The governor said Obi’s sacrifice, as a journalist and activism during the military era, would not be forgotten.

“The country shall not particularly forget the sacrifices made by Obi and other journalists.
“They risked their lives to speak the truth, displayed exceptional courage and openly challenged the military junta that seeks to perpetrate itself in office.
“They are some of the true defenders of Nigeria’s democracy,” the governor said.
Uduaghan also expressed deep condolence with the management and staff of the magazine, the journalism profession and all lovers of democracy for the death of Obi. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
