Ugbade says players responding well to training in Flying Eagles camp

LAGOS – Nduka Ugbade, the Assistant Coach of the Flying Eagles, on Wednesday said that the team was working hard on its formation ahead of the upcoming African Youth Championship (AYC).
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on telephone that the players were responding well to the training sessions.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Ugbade, who won the maiden edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in China with the Golden Eaglets in 1985, stressed that the team would leave no stone unturned in their preparations.
“I am impressed so far with the level of discipline being exhibited by the players, they are playing according to instructions and heeding to corrections.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“We just invited some new players into the camp and we are presently blending both the new and old players.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“We are teaching the new ones the rudiments of the game to get them acquainted with the task at hand.
“Once they are fully tutored and grounded, they will perform excellently on the pitch,” he said.
The ex-international told NAN that there are currently 30 players consisting of 26 outfield players and four goalkeepers and they were adjusting to the weather condition in Kaduna.
“When they eventually get to the competition, any weather situation there won’t be strange to them,” he said.
