Kayanja, who described the agency as a repository of information, said that the UN would require past historical pictures of Nigerians that had served in different capacities at the UN.
“This year is special because the UN is celebrating 70 years since it was established, we even have our new logo we call it UN at 70 and we want to work with your organisation and other organisations.
“The way we are looking at it we are looking at the climax of the commemoration will really be on the 24th of October when the UN was formed, and we want to even have profiles of Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in the service of the UN.
In his remarks, the Executive Director of NAN in charge of Lagos operations, Mr Jide Adebayo, said that the agency was prepared to support the UNIC in achieving a befitting 70th UN anniversary celebration in Nigeria.
Adebayo said that the agency currently had the best photo unit and other multimedia services that could be harnessed by public and private organisations.
He said that both organisations had a long standing working relationship that would continue to be sustained.
“The relationship between NAN and UN has been quiet cordial and very strong; to that effect, I can assure that we will give all the necessary support that you require for the effective coverage of all your activities.
“The issue of our archival materials, we have a photo unit that is quiet very rich and active; as a matter of fact, our photo service without any fear of contradiction, is the best in this country; our photo archive is in Abuja.
“So, whatever you need in terms of photo you will have to formally write to our Managing Director, who is in Abuja, and demand for such support.’’
