UNEP report: APC leaders commend Buhari over implementation

Bori (Rivers) – Leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers South-East Senatorial District, have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for fast tracking the process of implementing the UNEP report on Ogoniland.

Sen. Magnus Abe made the commendation on behalf of the leaders during a meeting held on Tuesday in Bori; headquarter of Khana Local Government Area.

He said that the leadership of the party was grateful to the President for initiating the process of clean up of Ogoniland.

He applauded the Minister of Environment for visiting pollution sites in the area and meeting with stakeholders to seek avenues of implementing the report.

Abe expressed satisfaction that several members of other political parties in the district had decamped to join the APC

He said that the meeting of stakeholders’ gave approval for the leadership of the party in all the wards to accept them unconditionally.

He said that the party would organise thanksgiving service on Jan. 17 in Oyigbo to celebrate the victory of the party’s governorship candidate at the Court of Appeal.

Abe expressed hope that similar victory would be recorded by the APC at the Supreme Court. (NAN)
