ABUJA (Sundiata Post) Ahead of the Nigeria Children’s Day on May 27, the United Nations Children’s Fund, a United Nations program that provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries has called on the government, stakeholders and all duty holders to take account of children’s rights in Nigeria
According to UNICEF, at 10.5 million, Nigeria has the highest number of out of school children in the world.
The UNICEF theme in marking this year’s Nigeria Children’s day is: “creating safe spaces for children: our collective responsibility.
The organization has pledged its readiness to provide the technical support needed to make that day count for children.
In any place where poverty and insecurity abounds like it does in Nigeria, children suffer the most.
