UNIFEMGA commends award-winning scholars at OAU




IBADAN – The Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) on Wednesday commended 10 of its scholars who bagged First Class degrees and prizes at the recent convocation.
In a commendation letter made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan, the National President of the association, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, expressed delight that UNIFEMGA scholars emerged the best among their contemporaries.
Egbewole said the association was proud of the students for their outstanding performance, pledging that it would continue to invest in the education and empowerment of its members to ensure human capital development.
“ UNIFEMGA is very proud of you all. We will continue to give supportive role not only in the spiritual realm but to education, membership empowerment and economic advancement of all members, ’’ he said.
Egbewole, however, urged the parents of the scholars to render support geared at enhancing their future educational aspirations.
While extending automatic invitation to next year’s national reunion forum of the association to all the scholars, Egbewole urged other students to emulate the scholars by excelling in their studies.
The scholars included Rasheed Amina, who emerged best in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Muritala Rukayat, best female in accounting for 2011/12 session and Oladepo Rafiat, best overall graduate in Faculty of Administration and Accounting in 2012/13 session.
Others were Dotun Odunbaku in Education, Afolabi Mubaraq, Medical Rehabilitation; Ishola Sulaimon, Accounting and Jimoh Abeeb, Civil Engineering.
The rest were Adejumo Waheed, the best graduate in Faculty of Technology; Sanusi Ibrahim, Education and Dolapo Shittu, the overall best graduating student.
NAN reports that UNIFEMGA had so far spent about N15 million on scholarship awards for 263 beneficiaries in the institution. (NAN)
