Unpaid Salary: Unijos ASUU to go on strike July 4

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The University of Jos chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has mobilized its members to down tools July 4, 2025.

Chairman of the union, Prof. Jurbe Molwus said the body took the decision as a result of the  unpaid salary of June 2025.

He gave the federal government a deadline of 11:59pm preceding the industrial action’s date.

He said that the decision followed a resolution of its congress, held on June 4.

“This is to request all members to abstain from lectures and statutory meetings if our salary for the month of June is not paid by 11:59p.m.

“This is in line with extant resolution of the National Executive Council that branches should take action when salary is not paid by the third day of a new month.

“It is also in line with our resolution during the congress held June 4, affirming this position.

“The action takes effect from 12:00 a.m on Friday”, he said.

The chairman called on its members to fully comply with directive until communicated otherwise

He said that its strike monitoring team would be activated to monitor absolute compliance.
