ABIDJAN – The Abidjan chapter of Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU), said on Saturday in Abidjan, that the President Goodluck Jonathan administration’s transformation agenda has impacted positively on the lives of Nigerians.
UPU’s President, Abidjan chapter, Chief Ogenetega Harrison, made the statement while delivering an address at the union’s end of year party.
He said that the performance of the president had brought pride to Nigerians everywhere around the world.
According to him, the president deserved commendations in the areas of power generation, economy, employment and rule of law.
“Those of us living outside the country are very proud of having a president that respects the rule of law, a leader with clear vision for the people.
“With the president’s performance, I am sure that he deserves our support for a second term in office,’’ he said.
The UPU president said the union had already mobilised its members to take part in the voter card collection exercise in order to exercise their franchise.
He used the occasion to call on Urhobo people in Abidjan to be good ambassadors of the country by being law abiding.
“As Urhobos and Nigerians, we must uphold the virtues of hard work and discipline in our undertakings in Cote d’Ivoire.
“We owe our ethnic nation and country a duty to be law abiding, hard working and to engage in acts capable of boosting the image of the nation,’’ he said.(NAN)
