Sundiata Post – A date for the first debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris in the race for the US Presidential election has been fixed.
ABC reports that it would host the first showdown between Trump and Harris on September 10, confirming the development in a post on X.
The disclosure follows Trump’s statement on Thursday that he would be open to debating his opponent multiple times before the November poll.
“We think we should do three debates,” he stated, an obvious challenge to his Democratic rival, suggesting two additional debates he added would be hosted by Fox News and NBC.
Harris confirmed her participation in the first ABC debate while she was at a Michigan event on Thursday, disclosing that she would be open to additional debates as well.
According to ABC, the September 10 debate would be moderated by World News Tonight anchor and managing editor David Muir and ABC News Live Prime anchor Linsey Davis.
Speaking on debating Trump, Harris said: “I am looking forward to debating Donald Trump and we have a date of September 10. I hear he’s finally committed to it and I’m looking forward to it.”
