Sundiata Post – Iran has denied any involvement in the attempted assassination of former United States President Donald Trump.
The Iranian Mission to the United Nations described the charges of attempting to assassinate Trump as “unsubstantiated and malicious.”
On Saturday, a 20-year-old shot Trump in an effort to murder him while campaigning in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Following the incident, Iran was accused of attempting to murder Trump in response to the killing of General Soleimani.
However, Iran’s Mission to the United Nations labelled Trump as a criminal who will face legal consequences.
The mission also stated that the gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks had no links to the nation.
“From the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Trump is a criminal who must be prosecuted and punished in a court of law for ordering the assassination of General Soleimani.
“Iran has chosen the legal path to bring him to justice,” he said.
