United States President, Barrack Obama, on Tuesday said that his administration and the entire American citizens would not forsake Nigeria during this time that the country faces some challenges.
Making this known in his remarks during the on-going US-African Summit in Washington, DC, the United States leader said that his country recognized Nigeria as her most strategic partner, adding that America would continue to throw its weight behind the federal government.
Obama continued that it was not only Nigeria that faces security challenges as a result of terrorism, noting that every effort would be made to ensure that terrorists were flushed out of Nigeria and the entire Africa.

During one of the meetings which was attended by the chief executives of Wal-Mart, the Coca-Cola Company and IBM among others, the US president hinted that Africa was once seen more as a destination for US charity than a place to invest, but added that that was quickly changing.
During one of the sessions, General Electric which announced a $2 billion investment in Nigeria and other participating African nations also called Africa its “most promising growth region.”
Business groups say U.S. policies, however, still reflect outdated ideas of Africa’s potential. (Leadership)
