Two members of Chief Raph Uwazuruike’s Biafra’s Independence movement (BIM) and Movement for Actualusation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have been released from detention by security operatives in Makurdi and Onitsha respectively.
A statement on Sunday by Elder Chris Mocha, Personal Assistant to Uwazuruike on Media Matters, said, the group has been celebrating since they were released
He said the members held a meeting at Ojukwu Memorial library, the Biafra seat of power, New Owerri , where Uwazuruike told them not to be violent in their agitation for Biafra
The BIM-MASSOB’ members described Uwazuruike as Messiah and the true hero of the Igbo resistant movement.
Mocha, said the leadership of BIM-MASSOB had last month, appealed to the military in Makurdi to effect Okeke’s release since according to the group, the detained member was of good behavior and an innocent member of a peaceful organisation that pursues its objective through a non-violent process.
