OWERRI – The Supreme Court-installed Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has wasted no time in hitting the ground running; with the announcement of his first four political appointments. The Imo State Governor has approved the appointment of Barr Nnamdi Anyaehie as Chief of Staff; Chief Oguike Nwachukwu as Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser; Chief Cosmas Iwu as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and C.O.C Akaolisa as Attorney-General.
The appointments take immediate effect.
The Supreme Court had on Tuesday sacked Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of Imo State. Specifically, the apex court, in a unanimous judgment by a seven-man panel of justices; that was led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad; held that Ihedioha who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was not duly elected.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun who delivered the lead judgment declared Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC); as the valid winner of the governorship election.
