JOS (Sundiata Post) – Mr Jatau Gyang, Plateau’s Commissioner for Transportation, says ValueJet airlines has resumed flight operations on the Jos -Lagos route on Wednesday.
Gyang said this on Thursday, in Jos, when he briefed the press.
The commissioner said the resumption of flight operations on the route would boost the state’s economic development, as more persons could now come into Plateau for various investments in trade and tourism.
He further said that the resumption of flight by ValueJet would strengthen regional integration and break the monopoly in the airspace market on the Plateau.
He said the government was also making plans to have more airlines operating in the state flying to other routes.
Reports that the Plateau Government had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ValueJet to ensure the sustainability of the Jos route. (NAN)
