ABUJA (Sundiata Post) Renowned social media activist VeryDarkMan has responded to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after they demanded an apology for his criticism of Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, regarding his visit to the Vatican for Pope Francis’ funeral.
Report emerged that the APC issued a letter demanding VeryDarkMan apologize for calling Akpabio’s trip “shameful,” especially amidst the ongoing deaths and insecurity in Nigeria.
In a video shared on his social media on Monday, VeryDarkMan first issued an apology to the victims of herdsmen attacks in various Nigerian states. He expressed his disappointment in the government’s failure to address the crisis, stating, “If these irresponsible leaders will not apologize, I will take it upon myself to apologize on their behalf.”
He further criticized the leadership for prioritizing political movements over the lives of Nigerians, particularly those affected by insurgency. “First of all, I want to apologize to the people of Benue, to the people of Jos, Kwara, Enugu, Ogun, and Edo state. To the people who have been victims of insurgency and insecurity in Nigeria as a result of these irresponsible leaders that we have,” he said.
VeryDarkMan went on to challenge the government to take immediate action, issuing a seven-day ultimatum for them to address the ongoing herdsmen attacks in regions like Benue, Jos, and Enugu. He stated, “People dey kpai, them dey kill hundreds of your own, una no wake up one morning una go there. President sef no get mouth give statement, una get mind dey give me 7 days. I want to give you people 7 days to clamp down the herdsmen attack that is going on in Benue, Jos and Enugu…”
His response has added fuel to the ongoing debate over the prioritization of political affairs over national security concerns.
