Dutse – The National Veterinary Research Institute, Vom, Plateau State, has advised cattle breeders and veterinary workers to support research into animal diseases using modern digital technology.
Malam Aliyu Jamo, the Chief Superintendent of Livestock, NVRI, gave the advice on Friday in Dutse at a workshop organised by the institute for veterinary workers and cattle breeders in Jigawa.
Jamo stated that the workshop was to refresh stakeholders’ knowledge on causes, prevention and data collection on veterinary diseases via use of ICT.
According to the veterinary superintendent, it is high time that people should migrate from accessing information through analogue medium to digital system.
Jamo appealed to the veterinary workers to pass the knowledge acquired during the workshop to those engaged in livestock business at the grassroots.
In a response, Malam Muhammad Rabiu, Secretary of Veterinary Extension Workers, Jigawa chapter, who spoke on behalf of participants, thanked the Research Institute for organising the workshop.
