Manchester United centre-back Nemanja Vidic will play his final home game for the Red Devils when they take on Hull City in Manchester tonight.
The Serbian, who has spent the last eight and a half years at United, will turn out in red for the last time at Old Trafford before leaving for Serie A side Inter Milan at the end of the season.
Despite their poor season, Vidic says he has no regrets in his career at United, having won five Premier League titles and the Champions League.
“I have no regrets,” he said. “I’ve given this club 100 per cent and my time at this club will always rank as the best part of my career.
“It has been a great eight years – or a great seven years because at the moment we are not doing so well!”
Vidic will make his 299th appearance in all competitions for United in their penultimate League fixture, and said he feels fortunate to have been part of such a successful club over such a long period of time.
“I never considered staying in England as the only club I ever wanted to play in this country is United and I have been lucky enough to be part of this club for so many years,” said the 32-year-old.
“I’ve got so many great memories. I never could have imagined winning 15 trophies, including five Premier League titles and the Champions League.
“I’ve played for the greatest manager [Sir Alex Ferguson] and I have learned a lot, not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well.”
The defender feels he has grown immensely since making the move to England from Spartak Moscow in 2005.
“Manchester United make you feel part of the family,” he said. “It has been a great experience for me.
“I have developed as a man at this club.”
Vidic could join the 300 club for the Red Devils, should he play both their last fixtures, at home to Hull and away to Southampton on the weekend. (kickoffnigeria)
