ABUJA – The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) in collaboration with the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) will hold a 14-day coaching course in Abuja. The NVBF Secretary-General, Adisa Beyioku, on Tuesday in Abuja said the course would start on Wednesday, Sept. 3 to Sept. 16 at the Abuja National Stadium’s Package B.
“The course, which is a FIVB Level II Coaching Course, will hold from 9 a.m. daily during that period, and it will be at the National Institute for Sports (NIS) building,’’ he said.
Beyioku said the course would be handled by Dr Hans-Friedrich Voigt as the course Director, and Kurt Radde as the course Instructor.
“Voigt is a FIVB Instructor III/Coach from Germany, while Radde is a FIVB Instructor II/Coach, also from Germany,’’ he said. [eap_ad_1] The NVBF Secretary-General said the course would open on Wednesday and would immediately go into session after all the registration formalities.
“After the registration, the course will go into session on the opening day with discussion on topics such as FIVB Trends and Rules and Team Formation “Outside-hitter’’, before a formal reception for the participants later in the day.
“On the days following, various topics would be discussed also, with each day having four two-hour sessions. There will be short breaks in between all the sessions, while a two -hour break will be the day’s main break,’’ he said.
Beyioku, who said the course would involve lectures, studies, seminars, practice, demonstration and video shows, however, said there would be a day off for the participants on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
“The course will be rounded off with practical and oral examinations on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, while the participants will depart on Sept. 16,’’ he said. (NAN)
