A young volunteer in the Oxford University Covid-19 vaccine trial has died in Brazil, the country’s health authority has confirmed. According to Brazilian news site Globo, the 28-year-old participant passed away ‘as a result of complications from Covid-19’ on Thursday.
Brazil’s health authority, Anvisa, said the Oxford University and Astrazeneca clinical trials will continue in the country. Anvisa nor the laboratory have confirmed whether the volunteer received a placebo dose or the real vaccine.
