Wages: APC urges Wike to emulate Oshiomhole

Port Harcourt –  The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers has urged Gov. Nyesom Wike to emulate his counterpart in Edo, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, by increasing and paying workers wages regularly.

This is contained in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Monday by Chief Davies Ikanya, the APC Chairman in Rivers.

Ikanya said that Edo, which was not economically buoyant like Rivers, was not owing workers.

“Wike has a lot to learn from Edo; the government does not only pay her workers but went ahead to increase the minimum wage from N18,000 to N25,000.

“Edo is a state that is not economically viable like Rivers but Oshiomhole does not owe workers while Wike is yet to pay workers for several months,” he said.

Ikanya also lamented the plight of pensioners who he said were being owed at a time the state government was hosting different clubs and associations.
