BIDA (NIGER) – A walker, Malam Suleiman Hashimu, has urged President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to ensure equity and justice during his administration.

Hashimu, who said he was walking from Ibadan to Abuja to mark the victory of Buhari at the polls, made the call when he spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bida on Tuesday.

He said the people he met along the way  had high expectations from the President- elect.

“I was recognised in some places as I walked past because of Buhari and some people gave me messages for him.

“I have many letters and personal requests from people they want me to deliver to Buhari.

“When I started out on this journey, it was to fulfill a pledge I made that anytime Buhari wins; I will walk from wherever I am to Abuja.

“I don’t have it in mind that I must see Buhari face to face. But it is for the love of his philosophy that am doing this’’, he told NAN.

Hashimu said an old man in Mokwa gave him goat to deliver to Buhari.

He said he made adequate preparations mentally and psychologically for the walk.

“Although I came out with some provisions, I meet big reception everywhere I got to.

“People offered me food and accommodation while the youths volunteered to escort me from one village to the other.
