ABUJA- Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF) has marked her 100 days in office with inauguration of three technological initiatives projects to harness work efficiency in civil service sector.
The three key projects, according to Walson-Jack are; GovMail, Service Wise GPT, and the Nigeria Federal Civil Service Online Academy.
While inaugurating the initiative, the HOCSF said it was her pledge, upon assumption of duty, to harness the power of technology to reposition the nation’s civil service as a bastion of efficiency, professionalism, and service excellence.
She explained that GovMail was introduced as an official email platform dedicated to civil servants, to secure and centralise a communication tool designed to enhance collaboration, streamline workflows, and ensure the integrity of official correspondence.
“By adopting this platform, we are fostering a culture of professionalism and accountability in our interactions, while safeguarding sensitive information critical to national governance. “
She said Service Wise GPT is a representation of a groundbreaking leap in using artificial intelligence to support civil service operations.
Walson-Jack added that the intelligent assistant was designed to provide instant access to information, facilitate decision-making, and assist civil servants in performing their duties with greater efficiency.
“By leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), we are empowering civil servants to deliver prompt and effective service to Nigerians, reflecting our commitment to innovation and responsiveness. “
Speaking on the significance of the Online Academy, she said the vision was an innovative platform that underscored the belief in the transformative power of knowledge.
The HOS said the innovation would offer workers the opportunity to upskill and reskill through a variety of online courses tailored to the unique needs to improve service delivery.
“This academy will play a vital role in equipping our workforce with the competencies required to meet the challenges of a dynamic global landscape.
“It is important to note that these three platforms are being launched as “beta versions”, and we consider this phase a crucial part of their development.
“To ensure they meet the highest standards, we are inviting all Civil Servants and stakeholders to provide constructive feedback over the next month. Feedback should be sent to BetaVersionFeedback@ohcsf.gov.ng,
“We assure you that all input will be carefully reviewed to enhance the platforms’ effectiveness, ” she said.
She used the medium to acknowledge the contributions of the ex-head of service, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan in initiating some of the key innovative programmes in the civil service sector before she exited civil service
“Her foresight and dedication laid the foundation for the conceptualisation of the Nigeria Federal Civil Service Online Academy.
“Her efforts have significantly contributed to this important milestone, ” she said. (NAN)
