Wande Coal and Don Jazzy are two angry men. They are angry at themselves, mad at each other, and have made it public on Twitter. The general public have taken sides, and currently there is still a hot battle raging on social media between fans of both stars. The battle line was drawn when Wande Coal released a new song titled ‘Baby Face”. The song comes just days after he premiered the official music video of his hit single ‘Rotate’. The new song ‘Baby Face’, is a thrilling highlife tune, and had fans all over downloading and praising Wande Coal for his brilliance.
….but then there was Don Jazzy.
Wande’s joy at the fans acceptance of his track was short-lived though, as former boss, and CEO of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy made statements on twitter that Wande Coal’s new song was his material which he made over a year ago.
Wande had allegedly stolen the song, and remade it. To support his claim, Don Jazzy released his version of Baby Face, with similar beats, rhythm, intro, and lyrics. According to Don Jazzy, Wande Coal released the song without his permission and blessings.
Wande Coal has responded, but not to the allegations of theft. The singer took to twitter replied Don Jazzy with tweets that reveal sadness and defiance. But he hasn’t denied stealing the song. He accused Don Jazzy of being unhappy with his progress since he quit Mavin Records.
Wande Coal and Don Jazzy go a long way back. The two were together at the defunct Mohits Records. After the ugly breakup with D’banj, Wande chose to pitch his career tent with Don Jazzy, and together with Dr.Sid, Tiwa Savage and D’Prince, they created the new Mavin Records. Earlier this year, Wande Coal left Mavin Records, quietly, and without public dispute or ceremony. Him and Don Jazzy had maintained a cordial relationship until this ‘Baby Face’ Scandal.
