LAGOS – The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday declared that it was combat-ready for crime prevention during the ‘ember’ months when crime was usually on the increase.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that all efforts were being made to ensure crime-free ember months.
Nwosu told NAN that adequate security measures had been put in place in order to stop any form of crime and illegality during this period.
“As we know that people get scared during ember months because they believe crime is always on the increase, but we are combat-ready to ensure that Lagosians have a crime-free Yuletide.
“We ensured the state was peaceful during the recent Eid-el-Kabir celebration and there won’t be any exception during these ember months.
“Lagosians should go about their lawful duties and should report immediately to the police any suspicious behaviour by any individual,” he said. “We are taking these measures to ensure that Lagos residents can sleep with their two eyes closed.
Nwosu said that the police was also working with other security agencies in the state to ensure that crime was reduced to the barest minimum during these ember months.
“We promise the readiness of the command and other security agencies to curtail crime during these months,” he said. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
