Lagos – Chinedu Efugh, Captain of Heartland FC of Owerri, says the team is highly motivated and confident of a good performance in the 2015/2016 Premier League.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 2015 /2016 league season kicked off Feb. 21 nationwide.
Efugh told NAN on Tuesday that the team would use the goalless draw played against Warri Wolves as a motivation to do well in the season.
“Although we were forced to a goalless draw in the first match against Warri Wolves, the team remains confident of a good performance this season.
“This season will be better for us; we have learnt from our mistake last season.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560”]
“We want to assure our fans that this season will be remarkable because we have dedicated and talented players.
“Our management team is doing the best it can to motivate us and we can only give our best and nothing more.
“We are going to Bauchi to honour our away match with Wikki and we intend to get our three points from the match,’’ the captain said.
NAN reports that Heartland will play its first away match against Wikki Tourist of Bauchi on Feb. 24.
Heartland finished seventh position on the 2014/2015 league table.
The team ended the season with 56 points from 38 matches. (NAN)
